Every person who visits your site matters. The way your site is designed can make people feel welcome, wanted, and interested in finding out more.
You might want them to buy something, learn something, or sign up for something. Those things will be easier for them to do if the site is accessible.
The World Health Organization says there are 1.3 billion disabled people in the world, which is a lot of people!
Making sure your website is accessible is the right thing to do, and it’s also the right thing to do for your business.
Someone won’t be a customer if they can’t navigate the product page, read the text on your info page, or use the sign up form.
We all use the internet in different ways. Some of us only want 3 tabs open at a time, and some of us have 30.
Some of us prefer to watch videos, and some of us get stressed out by how many things move on the internet these days.
Some of us buy everything on the internet, and some of us might use the internet for research and then buy in a store.
Part of accessibility is thinking about the wide range of ways people use the internet. And then we create digital products that allow everyone to interact in ways that work for them.
Designing in an inclusive way can include lots of things, like:
high color contrast
including examples and help text
having accessible forms
clear link and button text
ways to pause things that move
I help companies come up with accessible solutions that work for as many people as possible. Contact me to get started!
